Abstract

This paper discusses political and social issues involving the dissemination of legal information in the United States stemming from the impacts of digital information technologies and the world wide web on access to legal information by members of the general public. The issues raised by new technologies are considered in light of the practices and approaches of official and commercial publishers of legal information in the United States.
